Life Support Equipment

Raven has developed life support systems for both commercial and space environments.  Our extensive experience with cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum equipment, biometrics, and systems engineering ensure that these products meet our customers requirements.

Raven tasks have included:

• Development of integrated breathing and cooling systems for use by commercial firefighters
• Design, fabrication, and certification of man-rated life support systems
• Recharge and servicing equipment for cryogenic systems
• Thermodynamic and performance analyses of advanced carbon dioxide removal equipment
• Design of Liquid Cooling Garments (LCGs)
• Advanced spacesuit helmet designs, including impact protection
• NASA Constellation Life Support Umbilical System (LSUS) design, including the Vehicle Interface Assembly (VIA) and suit connector conceptual development and prototyping
• System trades and testing for lightweight, low profile spacesuit bearings System trades for next generation spacesuit helmets
